Peter Obi (LP), Akpabio, Shettima (APC) Grace Wedding of NNPP’s Barau Jibrin’s Son in Kano

Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), joined a host of dignitaries in Kano on August 18th for the joyous wedding celebration of the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin’s son.

Vice President Shettima was warmly welcomed upon his arrival at Murtala Mohammed International Airport Kano by Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, Senate Majority Leader Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, and Senator Kawu Sumaila.

This special event witnessed the presence of other influential figures including Senator Aliyu Wamakko, Senator Kabiru Gaya, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, Senator Mohammed Musa, former President of the Senate Ahmed Lawal, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Yayale Ahmed, and the Governors of Katsina and Sokoto States.

The ceremony, officiated by Sheikh Abdullahi Mudi, saw Vice President Shettima stand as the groom’s representative with a dowry of N500,000. Speaker Abbas represented the bride.

Vice President Shettima offered valuable advice to the newlyweds, Abdullahi Jibrin and Bilkisu Madaki, emphasizing patience, perseverance, tolerance, and maturity.

Senate President Akpabio highlighted the symbolism of the marriage, likening it to the unity between the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC). The Deputy Senate President’s son belongs to APC, while the bride’s father holds the Deputy Minority Leader position in the House of Representatives under NNPP.

Peter Obi, the LP Presidential Candidate, bestowed his blessings upon the couple, wishing them a marriage filled with blessings and joy.
